22 bowlers competed for the Dai Howick memorial trophy which replaced
the mower cup from this year.
Despite a heavy downpour just before it
started all bowlers braved the un-seasonal weather to have a fun day with
some good bowling.
In group 'A' Chris Champion and Gerry Neary edged out
Norman Harbour and Pam Nesbitt by one point to secure a place in the
final whilst in group 'B' Ken Alexander and Sandra Clarke won by two shots
from Chrissie Lyford and Jane Alexander.
The final was tight with Chris
and Gerry winning by one shot on a tie breaker end. It was fitting that
Gerry won using a bowling arm just as Dai did for many years.
All
bowlers enjoyed a raffle and a Spider was held with the money going to
the Priest House, which Dai always supported.
