The weather was kind to us on Saturday 5th September when we held our finals day, covid style. Although many of our members were unable to enter this year we still had reasonable support, it also gave many of the newer members a chance to show their skill on the green.
Despite the restrictions which have plagued the season, we had a fair bit of support from other members who came to cheer on and clap the finalists. All the games were hotly contested and drew many cheers and words of encouragement from the spectators. The bar was open and well used.
A big thank you to Chris Champion who organised the events, Norman who ran the bar, all those who entered the competition and the many people who assisted in various ways. A particular thank you to Glyn Lyford and his band of helpers for keeping the green up to scratch and in good condition, without which there would be no competitions or bowls for that matter.
