We held our annual Dickie Pearce Cup on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st May organised by Chris Champion. 24 people turned up, enough to make 3 Rinks. Each player was given a card to record their scores, for and against. After each game they chose a tile which gave the rink number and the position so everybody played in different positions. The winner would be the person who had the highest score after deducting any points against them.
Although the weather in the morning looked promising, a few dark clouds gathered and rain did stop play at one stage. However, it did not stop it for long enough to abandon ship. We managed 2 games of 5 ends before stopping for a well earned break, the bar was open and tea, coffee and cakes were available. As the weather had brightened up we managed to achieve 3 more games of 5 ends in the second half.
The winner with plus 24 points was Karen West.
