Congratulations to Trevor Swainson and Norman Harbour who are celebrating their 44th year at West Hoathly!
I received the following from Trevor:
In 1982, construction of the first brick pavilion was
completed after several years of terrific effort by the then members.
Neither Norman nor I were involved directly in this project but quite
separately, we were invited to join the Club at the start of the 1982 season.
We both have played regularly for the last 44 years, not as
top-notch bowlers necessarily although we have had our moments both separately
& together.
It is said that we have had a profound influence over the
years, sometimes positive and maybe even negative …. but we are still here!
