West Hoathly Bowls Club

What a FINAL that was - we arrived at Hove and Kingsway in what appeared to be the start of a Gale ! The wind was howling from the west so hard that it affected the bowls a lot !  We bowled from West to East on a green without any windbreaks,and bowling toward the East was easy, just the lightest weight would get the bowls to the head (and quite often beyond too!). Going the other way towards the West took a real HEAVE to get them up.  Nevertheless, we were all in the same boat, and the game was played in good spirit by both teams. Gordon's four were on top form and nearly made enough shots to make up for Dave Dawsons team who were not quite at their best. The final result was 28 to west Hoathly and 29 to Hove & Kingsway. We were all quite glad to get out of the wind at the end, but at least it didn't rain too!   Glyn (in Dave's team)
